Hi, I am Pastor Chris of the Oasis of Grace Foursquare Church, in Beautiful Bishop CA. I am glad you've stopped by to check out our web site, and hope it will help you to draw closer to God.
Our Sunday Morning Service starts at 10 A.M. We are at 528 Central Ave, right behind Bank of America on Main St. Come at 9:30 and join us for some light refreshments.
At the Oasis of Grace, our prayer is that everyone who comes here would experience God's incredible Grace and Love. God's Grace is His unmerited or unearned favor. That means you don't have to do anything to make Him like you, in fact you don't have to do anything for Him to Love You. I think the easiest way to grasp this reality is to see Him as the Bible describes Him, as Our Father.
As much as our earthly fathers often fall short, with even the very best missing the mark, Most of us have seen, and some have experienced, how awesome a loving relationship between a father and his children can be. Our heavenly Father loves us as His children, and desperately wants for us to have a close relationship with Him, so much so, that He went to great lengths to assure this was possible for everyone born on this earth.
If you have ever been to, or watched any professional sports event, you have probably seen someone in the crowd with a John 3:16 sign, hoping to get on T.V. If you ever wondered why or what it means, here it is. This verse from the Gospel (or Good News) of John is one that expresses the central theme of the whole Bible. It states that: "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life". This statement has always had an impact on me, but never so much as when my first son was born and I fell to my knees, overwhelmed at the depth of God's love in giving His Son for us.
As a Father (and an imperfect one at that) I love my children (ages24, 22, and 14) no matter what they do. One thing that many people miss, is the middle of that verse where it says "whoever believes in Him".
Our Church is all about beginning and continuing in a personal, intimate relationship with God the Father through believing in His Son Jesus Christ.
Our Emphasis is on Living a Life of Worship, and the churches call to LOVE, MEND, TRAIN, and SEND
In a nutshell, that's what we are all about here at the Oasis of Grace Foursquare Church; helping people find relationship with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and learning to walk in relationship with Him and each other.
